Overlooking the Susquehanna River in Towanda, Pennsylvania, The Weigh Station Cafe occupies a large brick
building built in 1884.
The structure, which was used as a freight depot, was utilized by several rail lines including Barclay,
Lehigh Valley, State Line – Sullivan and Susquehanna – New York. The last load of freight left the
Washington Street Station on March 31, 1976.
Today, The Weigh Station Cafe embraces the historic atmosphere of the depot. A beautiful deck, with
Pennsylvania Bluestone tables from Meshoppen Stone, allows the patrons a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna
River.
Inside a rustic decor compliments the great food, live entertainment and friendly staff.
